The 15 children like to play in the school band.

Mrs. Waters gave 5 children drums.

How many children did not get drums?

children.

 

5 children play drums.

They each get 2 drum sticks to play their drum.

How many drum sticks does Mrs. Waters pass out?

drum sticks.

 

Remember!  There are 15 children in all.

5 will play drums.

Now Mrs. Waters gives 2 children flutes to play.

How many children still have nothing to play in the school band?

children.

 

To the children who do not have an instrument, Mrs. Waters gives one half of them bells and the other half rattles.

How many children get bells? children.

How many children get rattles? children.
