A thermometer measures the temperature.

 On a hot summer day the temperature could be at 90 degrees Fahrenheit (F).  On a cold winter day the temperature could be at 30 degrees Fahrenheit (F).   Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit (F).   If the temperature is lower than 0, it is -10 degrees below or -20 degrees below 0. Fahrenheit (F)

Use the thermometer to answer the questions.

You can ice skate outside when the temperature is 30, or 70, or 90 degrees?
