A point is an exact spot.

You show a point in math with a dot like this:  

You also give a point a name.  Look at point M below.  Notice how it is written.

Find point A on line AB below.  Find point B on line AB below.

You have just found point A and point B on the line. 

 

This is line AB.  A line is straight and goes on forever.  Notice the arrows on line AB.  The arrows mean the line goes on forever in both directions.

Look at line segment PN below.  Notice it does not have an arrow on each end.  It does not go on forever.  A line segment is part of a line.
