All About Florida

Florida is the most southeastern state.  It is a 450-mile long peninsula located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.  At the very end of the peninsula are a string of islets called the Florida Keys.  The capital of Florida is Tallahassee.

1300 miles of coastline beaches and a very warm climate are reasons many visitors come to Florida in the winter and the summer.  Over 35 million visitors come each year to visit the beaches, Disney World near Orlando, and the John F. Kennedy Space Center.  Visitors also enjoy going to the Everglades National Park in southern Florida.  This 5000 square mile park preserve has many unusual wildlife to see.

Florida is also famous for its citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruit.  Citrus fruit is Florida's most important agricultural product.
