3-4 Spelling Tip

Short i.
The sign for short i is /ShortI.gif (886 bytes)/.
The short i sound is in swim, tin, and him.

 

Words Definitions
1. bill 1. an account of how much money a person owes someone:   Send me a bill for what I bought.  2.  a piece of paper money:  a dollar bill.
2. anything any such thing, whatever
3. divided 1.  separate into parts:  Divide the orange in fourths.  When you divide 10 by 2, you get 5.  2.  give some to each; share:  The children divided the peanuts.
4. include to take in:  They will include him in the baseball game.
5. picked 1.  choose:  I picked the black shoes.  2. pull away with the fingers:  We pick flowers. 
6. interest 1.  a feeling of wanting to know or share in:  His main interest is cars.  2.  make someone want to know or share:  Can I interest you in a book?  3.  extra money you pay if you borrow money:  My parents pay interest on money they borrowed.
7. discover find out;  see for the first time:  Someone discovered gold in California.
8. million one thousand thousand: 1,000,000.
9. beautiful very pleasing to see or hear.
10. village a community, usually smaller than a town.
