4-13 Spelling Tip

Ow words.
The ow vowel sound  is in the words clown, down, and frown.

 

Words Definitions
1. clown a person whose business is making people laugh by wearing funny clothes and doing tricks.
2. downhill sloping downward; closer to the bottom.
3. frown 1. wrinkles in the forehead, usually when a person is thinking hard or is angry:  He had a frown on his face.  2. look as though you are angry or thinking

9. coward one who shows disgraceful fear.  The man was a coward.
10. flown move through the air with wings.  The bird has flown to Mexico for the winter.
