5-20 Spelling Tip

Plural endings -s and -es
Plural means more than one.
The plural ending -s is added to tree - trees, cat - cats, and top - tops.
The plural ending -es is added to trench - trenches.
The plural ending y is changed to i before adding -es in army - armies and supply - supplies.

4. varieties number of different kinds:  This store has many varieties of furniture.
5. trembles shakes because of being excited, afraid, or weak:  Her hand trembles as she waits for the doctor to examine it.
6. supplies 1.  provide (what is lacking); furnish.  She supplies her with the money she needs.  2.  quantity ready for use; stock; store:  Have you bought your school supplies?  3.  the food, equipment, etc., necessary for an army, expedition or the like.
7. sometimes now and then; at times:  She comes to visit sometimes.
8. stories 1.  accounts, true or make-believe, of some things that have happened.  2. set of rooms on the same level or floor of a building: That house has two stories.
9. communities more than one community.  A community is a group of people living together.
10. copies 1.  things made to be just like another:  These are copies of a famous picture.  2.  a number of the same book or magazines: We have two copies of the magazine.
