6-2 Spelling Tip

The prefix un-
The prefix un- is added to a word to show the opposite action.
Written, unwritten, married and unmarried are examples of the prefix un-.   Notice when adding the prefix un-, the word takes on the opposite action.

 

Words Definitions
1. unpopular disliked by many people.
2. unreal not actual, or genuine.
3. unprepared not ready.
4. unspoken not using speech to express something.
5. unadventurous not ready to take risks or deal with the new and unknown.
6. unafraid not filled with fear or dread.
7. unreadable not able to read easily or impossible to read.
8. unacceptable unsatisfactory.
9. unchanged remaining the same.
10. uncomfortable not content, troubled.
