6-29 Spelling Tip

Words ending in -ous
An adjective is a word that describes a noun.
Adjectives that end in -ous describe nouns.
Famous and porous are adjectives ending in -ous.

 

Words Definitions
1. dangerous able or likely to cause injury
2. disastrous causing much suffering or loss very suddenly
3. famous much talked about; very well known
4. porous capable of absorbing water
5. marvelous causing wonder or astonishment
6. adventurous ready to take risks or to deal with the new and unknown
7. contiguous very near though not in contact
8. decorous noticeable for proper behavior and good taste
9. heinous shockingly evil
10. innocuous producing no injury: harmless
