6-8 Spelling Tip

The suffix -ible
The suffix -ible added to a word means able or to be.
Legible means able to be read.  Forcible means able to be forced. 

 

Words Definitions
1. credible offering reasonable grounds for being believed
2. edible fit or safe to be eaten
3. horrible marked by or arousing horror
4. terrible causing terror or awe
5. forcible got, made, or done by force or violence
6. sensible possible to take in by the senses or by reason or understanding
7. visible capable of being seen
8. flexible capable of being bent
9. defensible having the ability to be in a defensive position
10. gullible easily cheated or deceived
