One of the seven continents of the world is South America.  It is a large continent.  South America has long rivers, mountain ranges, and grassy areas.  It also has the largest rainforests in the world.  South America is home to many animals.  South America is made up of many different countries.  There are two oceans that touch South America.  The Pacific Ocean touches the west coast of South America.  The Atlantic Ocean lies east of South America.  An imaginary line called the equator runs through the continent of South America.  The continent of South America is south of the continent of North America.
